Third Sunday of Advent - JOY in a Time of Sadness

"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." Isaiah 9:2

This third Sunday, Gaudete Sunday, is dedicated to JOY.

This year, in the wake of the school shooting earlier this week, many don't feel comfortable recognizing joy. I am personally focusing on Advent being penitential and hopeful...and therefore my focus for joy is that greatest joy - our Salvation in Christ.

We are walking in darkness, surrounded by evil and despair - but God is with us, loving us, loving all of His children.

Have a peaceful and joyful week!
